We all have two simple tools with which to express ourselves and to interact with others: our voice and our bodies.
When you are working live, your best ideas and influence will come into being through these tools – the breath you give to your thoughts and the body in which you frame them.
And the way in which we use those tools will have enormous impact on how your words are received and what you invite by way of response.
At the same time we want a sense of authenticity when we are face to face with others. We want to feel ‘comfortable in our skin’.
Clear and Present will give you an insight to the methods that performing artists, speakers and leaders of all kinds use to create greater presence when they appear before an audience: methods that are simple, practical and applicable to a broader sense of ‘performance’ in professional settings. They will make you look good, and you will find that they will also serve your audience well too – making your message clearer and more distinct.
What you can expect:
- We will help you to be aware of your body and voice and the way they are ‘in play’ when you are live in front of an audience.
- You will learn simple techniques to make your voice more distinct, and to convey with clarity the thoughts you want to communicate.
- We will build from the fundamental principles of what engages us in watching and listening to performance, to what can be used when we are in front of an audience.
- You will learn how to have more impact through amplification, modulation and articulation in your message.
Beyond the Studio, we will prompt you to develop the habits that will serve to give you greater presence in all of your interactions, while continuing to be true to yourself.
This Studio can be presented as one full-day session or over two half days. Or, as with all of our curriculum modules, we can draw on this Studio content to create one or more shorter, express sessions for your team, diving into elements of Clear And Present, providing familiarisation, inspiration and ideas to take forward.
