Iain Sinclair

Theatre Practitioner, Director, Dramaturg

Iain is a director, translator and dramaturg (theatre specialist in story and scripts), with a Masters degree from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and King’s College London.  Iain has been assistant director to Max Stafford Clark and Cate Blanchett and is the Associate Artist and Resident Dramaturg for Playwriting Australia.

As a Director, Iain’s credits include: For Melbourne Theatre Company, The Beast By Eddie Perfect; for Sydney Theatre Company, Mojo by Jez Butterworth, Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca (translation by Iain Sinclair) and Our Town by Thornton Wilder; for Queensland Theatre Company, Brisbane by Matthew Ryan; for Belvoir, The Seed by Kate Mulvany, Killer Joe by Tracey Letts, Beyond the Neck by Tom Holloway, My Arm by Tim Crouch; for the Eternity Theatre, All My Sons by Arthur Miller; and for NIDA, Lost Illusions by Alana Valentine.

Iain has collaborated with Tony Weir, to develop InPlay Arts’ Studios on crafting and telling stories for use in business situations and applications.
